Meet the Trainer — Natalie Rhea
Hi, I’m Natalie — a dog trainer with a lifelong passion for helping dogs and their people build stronger, lasting bonds. I founded Rhea’s K9 in 2024 with the mission of creating compassionate, customized training solutions that meet dogs and their humans exactly where they are. My training style is grounded in a unique blend of hands-on expertise, formal education, and a deeply personalized approach. Growing up with dachshunds gave me early insight into breed-specific behaviors, especially in strong-willed dogs, and that foundation continues to shape how I train today. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all method when it comes to training. Every dog and every home is different, so I focus on building strategies that truly fit both the dog and the owner’s lifestyle. My experience as a foster mom and former rescue team member has allowed me to support dogs through every chapter — from surrender to adoption — including those with special needs or behavior challenges tied to genetics, breeding, or environment. I'm a registered AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator, GoodPup Certified, and committed to continuing education to ensure I offer the best support possible. My goal is to give you the tools, guidance, and confidence you need to help your dog not just succeed in training—but thrive in everyday life.
Let the pack speak for themselves
One of my best mentors, taught me that being a good trainer isn’t just about your certifications—it’s about the dogs you build that truly set you apart. That lesson has stuck with me and continues to shape my journey.
Toby
Toby is our senior pug/dachshund mix and the soul of our pack. A gentle and sensitive rescue, he found his forever home with me after three previous placements. His sweet nature and quiet strength remind us daily of the power of second chances.
Enzo
Enzo is a long coat German Shepherd with big goals. By 6 months, he earned his VHMP, STAR Puppy, VHMA and CGC title. Now he’s actively training in CGCU, TKN, Rally Obedience, and Urban Tracking/Trailing —building focus, confidence, and teamwork every step of the way.
Sirius
Sirius is our rock-solid therapy dog and a true professional when it comes to bringing calm and joy to those around him. He holds his VHMA, CGC, TKN, and TTN titles, and approaches every environment with confidence, connection, and heart.
Bear
Bear is a Long Haired Dachshund with a big drive and an even bigger heart. He holds titles including VHMP, VHMA, CGC, TKN, and BCAT is currently working toward his DCAT, TKI and CGCU. As a therapy dog, Bear and I visit independent living centers—spreading joy, comfort, and connection. Bear also loves sports; he runs Fast CAT and competes in Barn Hunt.
Together, this pack explores the world through training, therapy work, and performance sports like Fast CAT, trailing/tracking, and barn hunt—always learning, growing, and building deeper bonds along the way.
